Review by hotel critic
As a wildlife conservationist from Nairobi, I recently found myself at the Bowden, and I was curious to see how it balanced luxury with value. The Bowden is conveniently located, just a short walk from the shops and restaurants of Southport, which makes it great for exploring the area. The rooms are immaculately clean and well-maintained, with all the essentials you might need for a comfortable stay, including free Wi-Fi and an electric kettle for those much-needed morning brews. What stood out was the hospitality from Jane and Andy, who go above and beyond to ensure you feel at home. The breakfast was quite good, with a menu you could choose from the night before-though I would have loved a fried egg option to round it out. While the Bowden offers a lovely stay, I did find that it leans a touch on the pricier side, especially for smaller rooms. Considering the comfort and cleanliness provided, it can be seen as a wise choice for travelers seeking a hassle-free experience. The Bowden represents a solid balance between luxury and value for the discerning traveler.
